Rebecca Louise Hanssen was born in Stavanger, Norway to an Italian-Irish mother and a Norwegian father. She was four when her family moved to Scotland and Rebecca grew up in Glasgow, before moving to London on her own to further her acting career.
After establishing herself as an actor, Rebecca’s first professional role was in the feature film, The Drowning Of Arthur Braxton, directed by Luke Cutforth, starring alongside Johnny Vegas. She then went on to play leading roles in two CBBC shows –Dixi and Creeped Out, before landing a role in the Scottish feature film Tell it to the Bees, starring alongside Anna Paquin and Holiday Grainger. After that she went on to star as Amy Carven in Lore for Amazon Prime.
She now stars as Jemima West‘s daughter in The Unfamiliar.
